Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how WedgeRoam ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your information when you install and use the WedgeRoam application in connection with your Shopify store and warehouse hardware. WedgeRoam is a B2B SaaS application designed to optimize warehouse picking.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our offline-first picking architecture, we must process specific sets of data from your Shopify environment and warehouse operations. We only collect what is strictly necessary for the operation of the service:
- Shopify API Data: Upon installation, we request specific Shopify API scopes. We process your Order data (including order IDs, line items, and fulfillment statuses) and Inventory data (including Product tags, SKUs, and Bin Location metafields).
- Warehouse Activity Data: We track the operational state of waves, picking sessions, missing/damaged inventory exceptions, and individual SKU scan timestamps.
- Hardware & Telemetry Data: We collect non-identifiable telemetry regarding the rugged scanning hardware and smartphones (e.g., Zebra, Honeywell, Datalogic devices) connected to your workspace. This includes app versions, background sync reliability, and scanner intent capture metrics to maintain our SLA and debug hardware-specific edge cases on the warehouse floor.
Important Note: We do NOT collect your end-customers' personal identifying information (PII) such as shipping addresses, payment details, or contact information. Our system strictly operates on internal logistical identifiers.
2. Edge Computing and Uninterruptible Offline Picking
WedgeRoam is engineered as an offline-first native application. This means that a significant portion of data processing occurs directly on your physical scanners rather than relying on a continuous Wi-Fi connection:
- On-Device Storage: During an active picking shift, warehouse picking data (including master wave queues and successful hardware scan events) is securely cached locally on the scanning hardware (Zebra, Honeywell, or standard smartphone).
- Background Synchronization: This logistical data remains on the device through warehouse Wi-Fi dead zones. The moment network connection is restored, the application silently syncs the payloads to our cloud infrastructure to update your Shopify fulfillment queue.
We mandate that all merchants implement secure device policies (such as mobile device management or device passcodes) as this locally cached logistical data resides on physical warehouse hardware prior to synchronization.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected logistical and system data exclusively to:
- Provide, maintain, and optimize the WedgeRoam routing and wave generation infrastructure.
- Resolve multi-device picking conflicts via our backend pessimistic locking algorithms.
- Synchronize completed waves and exceptions back to your Shopify admin panel.
- Provide technical support and diagnose device-specific hardware intent failures.
4. Data Sharing and Subprocessors
We do not sell your data. We share your data only with essential infrastructure subprocessors required to operate the service. This includes:
- Shopify: For obvious reasons, we continuously read from and write to your Shopify instance.
- Supabase: Our primary cloud PostgreSQL database and state management provider.
- Vercel: Our edge computing and middleware hosting environment.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Upon uninstallation of the WedgeRoam application from your Shopify Admin panel, we immediately invalidate your Shopify OAuth tokens. Logistical data, including scan events and wave histories, is retained for 30 days to facilitate potential re-installations or financial auditing, after which it is permanently purged from our Supabase infrastructure.
If you require immediate data deletion prior to the 30-day window, you may submit a verifiable request to our support team.
